Mono Winterfest was a great success, and with it came the wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of the winter season. This year, the Dufferin Bruce Trail Club celebrated this family event with a number of exciting activities, including snowshoeing. Snowshoeing has grown into a popular winter sport for families. Not only is it a great way to explore the outdoors and appreciate the surrounding beauty of winter, it’s affordable!
At this year’s Winterfest, it was a perfect day to get outside and play. Lots of families turned up to enjoy the afternoon and to try their hand (and feet!) at cross country skiing, toboganning and snowshoeing. For those who have never tried it, try stepping into a pair of snowshoes and start walking.
Here are a few good reasons to try snowshoeing!
1. Enjoy the beautiful winter landscape of Mono
Snowshoeing in Dufferin is a truly special experience. With stunning views of the beautiful winter landscape of Mono, you’ll be sure to have a memorable time. We hope you joined the Dufferin Bruce Trail Club and made the most of the trails in the area. Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the trails, get some exercise, and make friends.
2. Get active in the snow
The Dufferin Bruce Trail Club led a group of snowshoers on an adventure along the beautiful Bruce Trail, and everyone enjoyed a leisurely pace to take in the winter scenery. Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced snowshoer, you’ll be able to find a trail that suits your skill level. Some of the kids preferred to traipse around with the skiiers while others preferred to follow the trail.
3. Let the family explore the outdoors together
Snowshoeing is a great way to get the whole family outside exploring nature. At Winterfest, the Dufferin Bruce Trail Club allowed many to participate on a guided trail of the area. From the beauty of the winter landscape, to the wildlife, the whole family can enjoy a unique winter adventure. With an experienced guide leading the way, you can be sure to find a fun and safe way to explore the outdoors together.
Many thanks to our volunteers Terry, Julie, Marianne, Wendy, Dennis and hike leaders Les, Helen and Lynda and su.
